Why do we need this new habit? Because we all entered into new era of human history. The World is a profoundly different place from when The Seven Habits of Highly Effective People was originally published in 1989. The challenges and complexities we face in our families, in our professional lives, and in our organizations are are of a different order of magnitude. We enjoy greater autonomy in all areas of our lives, and along with this freedom comes the expectation that we will manage ourselves instead of being managed by others. At the same time, we struggle to feel engaged, fulfilled,  and passionate. Tapping into the higher reaches of human genius and motivation to find voice requires a new mindset,  a new skill-set, a new tool set – in short, a whole new habit.

First published in 1989, is a self-help book written by Stephen R. Covey. It has sold over 15 million copies in 38 languages since first publication, which was marked by the release of a 15th anniversary edition in 2004. The book lists seven principles that, if established as habits, are supposed to help a person achieve true interdependent effectiveness.
